Adavatage of Low Chrome Cast Grinding Balls
1. Material Composition and Properties:
The chromium content is controlled between 1 per cent and 3 per cent. The material is primarily composed of a high-toughness cast iron matrix with a balanced carbon content that optimises both hardness and impact resistance. With a HRC hardness of 45 to 52, it is resistant to chipping and extensive fracturing, making it suitable for medium- to low-impact grinding applications.
2. Features of the Production Process Metal mould casting is employed, resulting in a dense microstructure with minimal internal porosity and sand holes; the overall metallographic structure is uniform, with minimal variation in hardness between the inner and outer surfaces of the balls. This ensures uniform wear during operation, preventing rapid localised pitting or deformation.
3. Performance Advantages Wear resistance is stable, with moderate wear rates; the balls are resistant to moisture-induced corrosion and perform consistently in wet grinding, power station pulverised coal grinding and cement coarse grinding applications; The balls possess good impact toughness; they are resistant to cracking under material impact, and the breakage rate is controllable.
4. Cost and Delivery Advantages:
Raw material costs are economical, offering a significant price advantage over high-chromium steel balls; they are suitable for projects with limited budgets and moderate wear resistance requirements; the full range of sizes, from Φ4.98 to Φ130 mm, can be mass-produced with short lead times, and we support on-demand sorting and packaging.
