Ultra-high impact toughness formula to withstand massive ball-drop impacts
SAG mills rely on the synergistic crushing action of large ore chunks and steel balls; the balls must withstand impacts from drops of several meters. Utilizing a low-alloy, high-toughness casting system, these balls offer impact resistance far superior to standard ball mill media. They do not suffer catastrophic shattering or radial cracking under violent, high-drop impacts, making them perfectly suited for the heavy-load impact conditions of SAG mills.
High deformation resistance; maintains shape during long-term operation
Conventional fine-grinding balls tend to flatten and lose their roundness under prolonged heavy pressure. These SAG-specific balls feature an optimized matrix microstructure with higher yield strength; they maintain a stable spherical profile under the continuous squeezing and impact forces of heavy-duty mills, preventing the loss of crushing efficiency caused by ball deformation.
Resistant to gouging wear from large ore chunks
The sharp edges of coarse ore inside the SAG mill constantly gouge the ball surface. The product’s wear-resistant surface matrix offers strong resistance to gouging, preventing rapid, large-scale grooving wear and maintaining a stable contact area for crushing.
Stable performance in both dry and wet operating conditions
In dry grinding environments characterized by dust and high temperatures, the balls resist oxidation and surface spalling. In wet grinding environments involving high-impurity, high-hardness slurries, they resist erosion-corrosion without surface rusting or flaking, avoiding contamination of the flotation process with excessive iron fines.
